Steve Hill - Director of Tennis
Steve has a very impressive background and a wealth of experience including IMG Bollettieri Tennis Academy as well as managing a number of impressive tennis facilities in the US and abroad. Steve, who worked here at SPTC before becoming Tennis Director at Seminole Lake came on board on August 19th and brings a new focus to all aspects of the tennis program at SPTC: adult leagues (Suncoast, PADL, South Pinellas, USTA and others); the education and tennis components of Courier's Kids and the Junior Program; tournaments; group, team and individual lessons as well as special events.
• Former collegiate number one singles and doubles player at Thomas More College in northern Kentucky.
• NAIA conference and district champion.
• 2002 USTA League Tennis Southeast Regional Doubles Champion.
• 1st Serve and Jr. Team Tennis coach.
Katie is originally from the Tampa area where she attended and trained at Saddlebrook Academy. Finishing her senior year of high school she reached the top 20 in the State of Florida. Katie received a full tennis scholarship to Syracuse University in upstate New York. While she was there Syracuse finished in the top 4 every year in the Big East Conference. After college she decided to move back to Florida and begin teaching tennis. She worked at the IFPA Tennis Academy for a couple of years teaching top-ranked Juniors. In 2006 she started working at the Tennis Center.
David is our Program Coordinator for the Courier's Kids 10 and Under, INTRO (11-17) and School group programs. He grew up in Niagara Falls, NY, where he was recognized as an all section tennis player in the State. He has worked extensive with the USTA initiative - 10 and under tennis - by running USTA Play Day tournament and Quick Start presentations. David has also been recognized on the Cardio Tennis ambassador team and is a PTR and USPTA certified professional.
